Therapy That Makes Room for You

Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, and neither are the people who seek it.

At NeuroAffirmative Perspectives, I provide individualized, neurodiversity-affirming teletherapy for adolescents, adults, couples, and families. While I specialize in supporting autistic individuals, people with ADHD, and those exploring their neurodivergent identities, my work also encompasses a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, substance use, and life transitions.

I also have experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and welcome clients of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, and backgrounds. My goal is to provide a space where you feel respected, understood, and comfortable exploring your experiences without judgment.

Whether you're navigating a particular challenge, seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, or supporting someone you love, we'll work together to find an approach that makes sense for your experiences, needs, and goals.

You don't need a formal diagnosis to begin, and you don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

Individual Therapy

Sometimes the challenges we're facing are difficult to put into words. You might be trying to better understand yourself, navigating anxiety or depression, feeling overwhelmed by everyday demands, or struggling with patterns that no longer seem to work for you.

In individual therapy, we'll explore what's happening in your life and what might be contributing to the challenges you're experiencing. This may include understanding your neurodivergent identity, navigating relationships, managing emotions, addressing substance use, or finding ways to work with your brain rather than constantly against it.

My approach is collaborative and flexible. Some sessions might involve exploring patterns and experiences, while others focus on developing practical strategies, processing emotions, or simply making space for what's happening in your life.

The goal isn't to change who you are. It's to help you better understand yourself, address the difficulties you're facing, and build a life that feels more manageable and meaningful.

Parenting & Sibling Support

Every family has its own dynamics, strengths, and challenges. When neurodivergence is part of the picture, family members may experience and understand the world in very different ways. Finding ways to recognize and support those differences can help everyone feel more understood and connected.

I work with parents and caregivers who want to better understand their neurodivergent child, navigate everyday challenges, and find approaches that work for their family. Our work might involve exploring communication differences, emotional regulation, sensory needs, executive functioning, or ways to support a child's growing independence.

I also recognize that parents and caregivers have needs of their own. Sometimes supporting a neurodivergent child leads parents to reflect on their own experiences, including the possibility that they may be neurodivergent themselves. We can make space for those discoveries, too.

Siblings are another important part of the family system. They may have questions, experience complicated emotions, or need support understanding their own place within the family. I provide space for siblings to explore their experiences and feel heard.

The goal isn't to create a perfect family or expect everyone to function the same way. It's to build greater understanding, strengthen relationships, and find ways for everyone's needs to matter.

Couples Therapy

Every relationship brings together two people with their own experiences, needs, and ways of understanding the world. Sometimes those differences complement one another, and sometimes they lead to misunderstandings, frustration, or patterns that leave both partners feeling disconnected.

I work with couples who want to strengthen their relationship, improve communication, and better understand themselves and each other. This may involve navigating recurring conflicts, emotional needs, intimacy, life transitions, or differences in how partners express themselves and connect. I welcome couples of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities, recognizing that every relationship has its own dynamics, strengths, and challenges.

I have a particular interest in supporting couples in which one or both partners are autistic, have ADHD, or are exploring their neurodivergent identities. Differences in communication, sensory experiences, emotional regulation, and executive functioning can shape relationship dynamics in ways that aren't always immediately understood. Together, we can explore those differences without assuming that one partner's way of experiencing the world is inherently better or more correct.

My approach is collaborative, curious, and focused on helping both partners feel heard. Rather than assigning blame, we'll work to understand patterns that may be contributing to difficulties and explore ways of relating that feel more supportive and sustainable for both people.

The goal isn't for partners to become more alike. It's to develop greater understanding, strengthen connection, and build a relationship that makes room for both individuals.
